I was just commenting on the thread about the changes to the blog and the word "scattered" kept coming up. That's totally what I feel about my attempts to discuss things about the book.
Out of curiosity, did anything change for you after reading it? I know a lot changed for me before/during/after writing it, but I was genuinely nervous about Jake fans reading it. I have all of these bad memories of people saying really hurtful things to me in "defense" of Jake back in the Jake Watch days, but so far, the reaction to the book has been amazingly positive.
Not that there's anything bad or remotely untruthful in there, but I was conditioned to expect negative feedback when presenting Jake as a real human being, flaws and all. So I wondered if any of you saw him differently after reading "Becky's" view of him after only knowing what "Prophecy Girl" thought before...

No response yet?
Yea he's "totally flawed from the very beginning" (quoted).
I'm waiting for him to make it up with me.
p.s. .. like winning an Oscar for LAOD, perhaps?

PSH, no worries PG. I'm all for fans first, actors second philosophy. Half the times the fans are the reason to stay in a fandom, not the actor him/her self. As you said in your book, and I'm paraphrasing here, "I came for Jake and stayed for the fans." Besides, most actors I admire have really bad vices...like Edward Norton for example. I like them as an actor, not necessarily a person. I don't even KNOW Jake, I only know his movies. And I think that sort of separation is healthy to some extent. I'm about1/2 way through, but so far I love it. I definitely makes me feel like I'm getting to know you better as well, as PG and as Becky.

Edward Norton is fantastic. Love *almost* every film he's ever done. I have Leaves of Grass on my desk right now, waiting for the right mood to watch it.
