Hey Sam, wherever you are, it looks like our boy & Anne will be in Sydney this weekend for the Aussie premiere. Here's a link to the source at PopSugar in OZ. Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway Are Coming to Australia!Evidently they postponed their premiere in London after all, maybe they wanted sunshine instead of snow.

& here's a little tidbit I got today that was really cool what Gwyneth says about Gylls in LAOD & for the record, I really love that word she used, insouciance. What a cool word. Gwyneth Paltrow on Jake Gyllenhaal in 'Love & Other Drugs'"This might be my favorite of his performances. It's the first time his edginess, insouciance and sense of humor all come through, as well as all of Jake's warmth. He's very appealing. He's naked all the time, too, which is another upside. In the very beginning of the film, you see him in his womanizing phase. He works in an electronics shop and is this natural-born salesman. He's really kind of cheeky, flirty, naughty and kind of base. It's fun to watch him, because he's being very boyish. Then he makes this big evolution and his character finds a lot of depth. But he doesn't lose that sense of humor. He stays fresh and funny.
It's great to see both Jake and Anne Hathaway going for it and being gutsy and very open. She plays a woman with early-onset Parkinson's, and that pulls him out of his shallowness and immaturity. It's a sweet story, and they play it with a lot rawness and vulnerability."

And I'm not surprised that LaOD underwhelmed. The marketing was sort of weak, and the timing was all wrong. Opening during the HP craze, on the same weekend as Tangled and Burlesque was a bad idea. Jake and Anne definitely have star power, but they're draw is no where near that of Harry Potter or the goliath Disney. KD, I totally agree with you on the marketing & the timing for the release. In fact I think that some of the hype regarding the nudity & sex may have hurt it more than help it. I have seen so much online where either men have seen it going in expecting an Apatow type comedy & were irritated when they discovered it wasn't, & called it sappy. & the other extreme where a lot of women saw the trailers only & refused to give it a chance because they thought it had too much nudity & sex & figured it was all gratuitous anyway. If they would check out the movie, they may feel differently, but to each his own. I didn't love this movie just because I am a Jake & Anne fan. I really thought it was very good. I loved the storyline & plot, evidently some Jake fans did not. I am really curious to see what your opinion will be of it. But regardless of the story, Jake & Anne did a bang-up job of acting in it & I still say they had a humongous amount of chemistry, so much so, that I would think they fell in love on the set if I didn't know better. More of my 2 cents. Don't worry, V, I'll shoot up a review AS SOON as I watch it. I promise.

They ask Josh if Jake's penis is in the movie and Josh replies "not quite." And then at the end it says "don't worry, I'm sure Taylor Swift will be writing a song about it (Gyllenpeen) soon." THAT is hallarious!! I havnt been spoiling LaOD for myself so i havnt been reading the other thread. I thought id put it in here cause its inactive anyway so no-one else will really talk about anything else Anyway... The picture in this clip looks almost like porn... is it really that extreeme in the movie??

Sam, the screencap definitely makes it look way worse than it actually is! That whole video was pretty funny (well, for the source, at least ), but those censorship blocks make it look way bad when it's totally not... I'm so anxious for you to see this movie!!!!

Glad to see you got a better date, Monica & a better poster than UK did. WTF is up with that UK poster anyway? I think the US & Brazilian ones are so much better. They look funny in the UK poster even if it is the same picture.
But in other news for LAOD, Jake & Anne for were both nominated for a Golden Globe for best actor & actress in a musical or comedy this morning. Here is the official GG website announcement, (click thru the link): THE 68TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS NOMINATIONS

& here's what Jake said this morning to a reporter after hearing about his nomination according to USA Today:Who's going to be Jake Gyllenhaal's date to the Globes?
The actor laughs for a while before responding. "Dude, I didn't think I was getting nominated. It's going to be a long, slow burn for me. I'm not rushing into anything!" says Gyllenhaal, who's up for Love and Other Drugs -- and has been linked, of late, to singer Taylor Swift.
He's in Los Angeles and says he was home when he found out. "I was asleep. I didn't wake up. It was pretty unexpected. I got a call and then I checked my phone and I had 25 e-mails, and it was either disconcerting or exciting. In this case it was exciting," the actor tells USA TODAY's Donna Freydkin.
He earned an Oscar nomination for 2005's Brokeback Mountain. Does this time feel any different? "The last time I was nominated for an award like this, it was so overwhelming and I didn't know how to process it. I can see these things are rare and you never know when they're going to happen, so you have to soak it in and appreciate each moment," says Gyllenhaal. "Celebrating is a long, slow burn for me. I'm going to really soak this in. I'll be with my family and I'm excited for the holidays. I'm not going to deny any awesome feelings."Source: content.usatoday.com/communities/entertainment/post/2010/12/will-jake-gyllenhaal-take-taylor-swift-to-the-golden-globes/1
