REVIEW -- Love & Other Drugs: Not Just About Sex

(& here is their review which is pretty good)

Love & Other Drugs is the highly anticipated new film starring Hollywood hotties Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway.

You know the one. You've seen the trailer. It's about the womanizing pharmaceuticals rep Jamie Randall (Gyllenhaal) who meets the carefree Maggie Murdoch (Hathaway) and falls in love... resulting in lots of sex and nudity (yikes!).

But while the ample sex and nudity in the film has been the key promotional point used to get bums on seats, what movie-goers will find is a drama about the struggles of Parkinson's disease.

Anne Hathaway's portrayal of 26-year-old Maggie Murdoch, an early on-set Parkinson's sufferer, is to be commended. The focus required to make your fingers tremor on cue must have been intense!

When she gets involved with the charming Jamie Randall, she struggles to let him be a part of her life.

Love & Other Drugs is set in the late 90s on the cusp of the invention of Viagra, the pill we all know from our spam emails helps guys 'get it up' and 'last longer'. Randall is psyched when his company Pfizer puts the drug on the market as he believes with his smooth moves and charming personality that he's the man who can sell the most Viagra. As hilarious as you'd expect, he suffers some adverse side effects from taking the drug!

But again, this storyline is not central to the theme of the film... which is that love is the only real drug. Vomit. Yes... but meaningful all the same.

With some unexpected scenes, a few laughs and plenty of naked perving action, Love & Other Drugs is certainly worth a look.

Well it appears that Jake & Anne have been galivanting all over Sydney the last few days. I have not read or heard anything about when they will be leaving there, but from what Jake has said in interviews, he evidently really loves it there. I have a brother & sister in law, & now new nephew that live in Tamworth, NSW about a 4 hr drive from Sydney. I hope to visit them next year, maybe in October when it is their spring. It seems so odd to me that they have Christmas in summer... ;D

Well, we now know Jake (& I assume Anne) already flew back to the states yesterday evening, so it will be interesting to see the latest if they continue to promote the movie.

Jake Gyllenhaal Comments On Taylor Swift Relationship!

While the budding relationship between Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift has not been officially confirmed by either party, we've all seen the photos of the pair enjoying a morning coffee together, so when Take 40 spoke to Jake on his recent visit to Australia, we tried to get the scoop.

Speaking to Gyllenhaal and his Love & Other Drugs co-star Anne Hathaway, we asked Jake that although we know he has a penchant for a certain blonde celebrity, would he ever date a normal girl?

At this point our interview was cut off by Jake's rep, who said "we're good, thanks" and swiftly wrapped things up.

But always lightening the mood, Hathaway chimed in saying "but you love brunette's on screen right?"

"I don't know..." Jake tells take40.com, "I appreciate the question though!"

Sounds to us like Jake and Taylor can't keep avoiding the question for too much longer!
