There is a charity auction for 2 tickets to attend the premiere of Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal on March 28 including access to the afterparty! Jake has graciously donated this to benefit the ACLU of Southern California. Go Gylls!!! ;D
Here is a link to the auction if any of you can manage to go, (I would do this in a heartbeat if I had the cash, but alas, once again, it's a no-go for moi. ) FYI, the auction does end Friday, March 25th at 4 pm EDT Charity Buzz - 2 Tickets to Source Code Premiere & After party in HollywoodThis is your chance to attend the highly anticipated premiere of Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal on March 28, 2011 in Hollywood, California. Then, enjoy 2 passes to attend the celebrity-studded after party - who knows what famous celebrities you will see! When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the Source Code, a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.
Filled with mind-boggling twists and heart-pounding suspense, Source Code is a smart action-thriller directed by Duncan Jones (Moon) also starring Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye, Due Date), Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, The Departed), and Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace, Syriana).
Premiere is on March 28, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) at the Pacific Cinerama Dome (Arclight Hollywood) 6360 W. Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California.

Article & interview from Chicago Sun-Times about Jake, SC, family, & his "Gyllenhaalics":With Chicago fans, everything just JakeHis fans call themselves Gyllenhaalics and there is no intervention. They just need to have their fix of those pecs and that sweet smile.
In Chicago, they gathered early in the morning at Millennium Park. Their ages ranged from 5 to 65, and they were on a mission to find the object of their addiction: Jake Gyllenhaal.
The 30-year-old heartthrob was filming a scene for his new movie “Source Code” in the park, and pandemonium ensued.
“Chicago is so cool in my book,” Gyllenhaal said. “We shot in the early morning hours and we had the whole park, but without giving too much away, we were filming in front of a statue that was very reflective. You could see the faces of the fans in the background going nuts and waving. It didn’t exactly fit into the plot about a guy who is hiding out.
“So I asked the ladies to shift a little to the left. It was pretty funny because the crowd moved together like one big dance step. It was everybody to the left in a few big steps. Then everybody to the right. I love my fans. They were so cooperative.”
In “Source Code,” opening Friday, Gyllenhaal plays Colter Stevens in an action thriller revolving around a soldier who finds himself stuck in an odd time-traveling pod that transports him into the body of a Chicago teacher stuck on a commuter train that has been bombed into oblivion. Colter winds the clock back eight minutes and is on a mission to find the terrorist before another bomb is unleashed in Chicago.
Each time he goes back for the eight minutes, he learns something new.
“Variation was key,” he said. “It was the only way this movie could be interesting. We figured out how to use this repetition to our advantage or we would be destroyed by it.”
He said the roughest part of the journey were the moments of disorientation when he travels from real life back into this unknown realm and lands in a pod.
“I knew it had to look disorientating, so what I would do is hold my breath and do a number of kung fu combinations to get dripping wet with sweat. Then we’d roll,” he recalled. “We’d do a seven-minute take and then I’d do my breath-holding routine all over again.”
He admitted that he almost passed out a few times. “The room was literally spinning, but that was great because my confusion looked so real onscreen.”
Gyllenhaal, whose most recent film was the love story “Love & Other Drugs,” said the idea of a thriller appealed to him.
“I loved that it was a film filled with twists and turns. In most films, the audience is way ahead of the story. This was unique in that it leaves you guessing,” he said. “The script gets there before the audience does.”
Director Duncan Jones said Gyllenhaal was the only man for the role.
“I’m a huge fan of Jake Gyllenhaal,” Jones said. “He’s an incredibly talented actor and he’s not painful on the eyes. He’s also incredibly brave. He’s an actor who is always willing to take a risk.”
Born to be an actor
Gyllenhaal grew up in Los Angeles with show business in his blood. He is the younger brother of actress Maggie Gyllenhaal and son of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and producer/screenwriter Naomi Foner.
“I was brought up in a family that desperately wanted to tell stories,” he said. “It was almost like a traveling circus. This is what still gives us joy. This is what matters to us.”
Gyllenhaal made his big-screen debut playing Billy Crystal’s son Danny in 1991’s “City Slickers.”
“It was crazy to be a kid on a major movie set,” he said. “I couldn’t believe that I was that close to Billy Crystal. To this day, I remember the wardrobe I wore, being in the makeup trailer and working with that cow that played Norman.”
He was a giving co-star.
“Remember the last scene at the airport with the family in the van with our new pet?” he asks. “The cow was peeing all over me.”
After that warm welcome to the biz, he went on to do roles in all kinds of films, from the small and independent (“Donnie Darko,” “The Good Girl”) and big blockbusters (“The Day After Tomorrow”). He became an international sensation playing a gay cowboy in Ang Lee’s “Brokeback Mountain.” His memories of working with co-star Heath Ledger are precious to him.
“I remember seeing him after we were both cast. We were at this party and we didn’t have real space to talk. But somehow we found a little corner and we started doing some of the lines,” he said. “We both thought the story was so beautiful and we wanted to service that story in whatever way possible.
“We had no time to waste.”
Gyllenhaal said his next film is “a beautiful screenplay about two Los Angeles police department officers. It’s about the nature of duty and friendship, and about the reasons why young guys put their lives in danger.”
No escaping the spotlight
Gyllenhaal’s only danger is the stalking paparazzi. He has had high-profile relationships with Kirsten Dunst, Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift.
“It would be great to just play characters and lose yourself in them while the audience loses themselves in the characters you play,” he said. “I’d much rather they know less about me and more about the characters.
“I don’t like having my life played out in the media. I’d much rather keep my private life private. At the same time, I completely understand the interest in an actor’s personal life. I am very forgiving of little 9-year-old girls who run up and say, ‘I want to marry you.’”
Gyllenhaal’s young fan club also includes his 4-year-old niece Ramona Sarsgaard, the daughter of his sister Maggie and actor Peter Sarsgaard.
“Family is the most important thing to me. I love being with my niece,” Gyllenhaal said. “Since my niece came into my life, I have a new perspective on spending time around the dinner table with the people who are special.”
They won’t have to deal with his movie star attitude, because there is none.
“If I developed an attitude, my mom would give me a real good whupping.”

Here is one from Geekscapedotnet:
An article/interview with Jake from thespec.com, click thru the link to read, (this is a good one): Jake Gyllenhaal attracted to explosive ‘Source Code’
An article/interview with Jake from enterprisenews.com: Jake Gyllenhaal plays two roles in ‘Source Code’
Here's a very short audio clip with Jake. (click thru the link below & then there is an audio bar to click on to listen): It’s Been A Process Of Discovery For “Source Code” Star Jake Gyllenhaal
& one more really good one for the night from the Orlando Sentinel:Jake Gyllenhaal’s list of regrets? Not ‘Source Code’Jake Gyllenhaal’s new movie has him thinking about regret. It’s not regret about making “Source Code,” a critically acclaimed sci-fi thriller opening Friday. It’s just a bit of “if I had it to do over” wistfulness that comes from thinking about the character in this “Groundhog Day” tale about a soldier forced to relive the last eight minutes of a doomed man’s life to prevent a terrorist attack. “It’s regret that always makes you — if you listen to it — choose not to do something that you [might] regret the next time around,” Gyllenhaal says. “The things that we regret and remember are the things that make us more present in our lives. That’s what life is all about, for me.” And that’s what connected him to his character’s journey in “Source Code.” Forced to relive the same eight minutes, over and over, seeking clues, trying new strategies, connecting with the doomed man’s friend (Michelle Monaghan), Colter Stevens transcends his “mission” and makes it a spiritual journey. “It goes from ‘I’m using these eight minutes of someone else’s life to save thousands of people’ to ‘What would you do if you had eight minutes to live?’ That’s pretty deep for a thriller. That lifts this movie to a much higher plane, dealing with a much larger philosophical idea.” Gyllenhaal chuckles. “The irony is, regardless of past or future, if we looked at the world that way, we’d all be a lot more present.” At 30, he’s a little young to be carrying Sinatra’s no-regrets “My Way” as an ethos. But that’s sort of who Gyllenhaal is. He makes no apologies for trying his hand at last summer’s flop, “Prince of Persia.” There’s no looking back longingly at ex-girlfriends (Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift, among them). Revisit his two years at Columbia University for a clue about why that is. “Every choice I’ve ever made is probably informed by my interest in Eastern religions and philosophies,” he says of his college courses. “’Source Code’ explores a ton of different philosophical ideas, that there is no real linearity to life, that time and space are flexible — all things that aren’t just about science but that concern religion and philosophy, particularly Buddhism.” So his motivation wasn’t simply that “I just did a romance [“Love and Other Drugs”], time to try a little sci-fi,” or that Ben Ripley’s script for “Source Code” was an “I couldn’t wait to get to the next page” experience. The idea of reliving events, over and over again, altering the future by some tiny degree, fascinated him. “This is the best kind of acting exercise you can have,” Gyllenhaal says. “There’s no consistency, no back story to what’s going on. He’s trying to piece together his life and this reality he’s now in, and he’s got eight minutes to do it. You can’t get ahead of the story, think to that point to later on in the movie when things start to jell and make sense. It’s a lot of searching and a lot of disorientation and blind alleys. “I enjoy being the eyes of the audience, because I am always thinking of the audience. With this character, I had the ability to think about all the things the audience might think about that. ‘Why doesn’t he try this? Why don’t I try that?’ And I could play against that.” For the film, Gyllenhaal is “the perfect Hitchcock-style everyman taken out of his comfort zone and thrown into events he can’t explain,” Pete Hammond wrote in Box Office magazine. Review after review praises both the film’s plot and Gyllenhaal’s sincerity in making it believable. And that commitment didn’t end with the closing credits. “What would you change if you had the chance? Not much. Not in my life. I’ve been blessed,” Gyllenhaal says. “But what I learn from this movie is it’s not what you do, it’s how you respond. It’s not going out and never making a mistake. It’s how you respond afterwards. That determines who we are. “The ultimate goal is to help others, not yourself.”

Well, I thought I had posted enough for the evening, but then I got this Jake alert from moviefone's Cinematical blog, due to all the press & promos of SC, they put up this precious post about 10 yr old Jake. If any of you haven't ever seen City Slickers, I highly recommend it. It was a funny movie that came out 20 years ago with Billy Crystal, & Jake played his son, (Danny Robbins), in the movie. He had a small part, but he was so damn cute in it, you just want to hug him & squeeze him. ;D
Here's a screencap of him in the movie:
Here is a screencap from the video below: Stars in Rewind: Jake Gyllenhaal, Age 10, Meets the PressFor most of us, Jake Gyllenhaal jumped into our movie-loving consciousness with his performance in 'October Sky,' at the tender age of 18. Since then, we've watched him blossom into an actor who can convincingly play a soldier bouncing in and out of danger in 8-minute loops of time in the entertaining and thoughtful action thriller 'Source Code,' which opens wide on Friday.
In between, Gyllenhaal has moved easily between independent dramas ('Donnie Darko,' 'The Good Girl,' 'Lovely & Amazing') and big-budget Hollywood projects ('The Day After Tomorrow,' 'Zodiac,' 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time'). In 'Love and Other Drugs,' he got just as naked as Anne Hathaway, but somehow ended up with less attention, which probably says more about audiences in general than it does about his performance. Before the film slid into melodramatic territory, Gyllenhaal's facility with comedic material was nicely showcased, a side of him that has surfaced only rarely.
For his funny side, though, you can go straight back to his feature film debut as a pre-teen in a little box office smash called 'City Slickers.'
'City Slickers' starred Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern and Bruno Kirby as friends who are all facing a mid-life crisis. They decide to visit a more authentic version of a dude ranch and join a cattle drive to recapture their youth. Veteran cow wrangler Jack Palance teaches them life lessons and whips them into shape. Palance won an Academy Award for his performance.
Gyllenhaal played Crystal's son Danny, a kid who's not exactly proud of his father's profession -- he sells ad time for a radio station. It's a brief role, and hardly memorable on its own merits, but Gyllenhaal is a cute kid. He was born in December 1980 and the film was released in June 1991, which means he was no more than 10 years of age when making the film.
Somewhere around the time of the film's release, he was involved in its promotion. Check out the interview below with a British TV show, in which he gives credit to his parents, demonstrates his double-jointed arm and expresses his hope to do more movies "like that."
Gyllenhaal, even as a child dressed up in a cowboy hat, looks very serious as he discusses his craft, and displays an engaging smile. Could anyone imagine that, 14 years later, he would be nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in 'Brokeback Mountain'?

^^^^ You're very welcome! I love posting what I find here to share. I just wish I had the comedic genius of our fearless leader, PG...
First, let me say, the movie is now open all over the US, UK, & several other countries, but not sure exactly which ones, so check out imdb, they may have the latest on the release dates for overseas. I am not going to be able to go today like I originally planned due to much needed work, but am happy my buddies here in Houston are going with me to see the 1st show tomorrow, YAY!!!
Second, a reminder to any peeps out there that may be lucky enough to be in NYC today. Jake will be at the Apple store in Soho with Duncan Jones, evidently promoting the iPad as it appears to be his favorite toy. They will be there from 6 pm to 7 pm Eastern time.
Now for more videos & interviews.
Here is his appearance on Live with Regis & Kelly yesterday:
& a video of him explaining to ET about the engagement ring faux pas on the show:
Here he is on Good Morning America yesterday with Robin Roberts, (not embeddable here so click thru the link): Jake Gyllenhaal Tackles Sci-Fi in New Flick

From The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Wednesday evening, (click thru the link to watch): Daily Show: Jake Gyllenhaal - Wednesday March 30, 2011
& again for fun, here are the other 3 video interviews he did on The Daily Show, 2 back in 2007 for Rendition & Zodiac & 1 in 2002 for Moonlight Mile, (click thru the links to watch).

Fans trying to get an autograph while this autograph co. videotapes it & needless to say, I am NOT promoting them, I can't stand those guys:
Here are a few written interviews & Q&A's
From Flicks & Bits: Jake Gyllenhaal Interview For Duncan Jones ‘Source Code’
An interview with Cahir O'Doherty at the Irish Voice: A source of strength - Michelle Monaghan and Jake Gyllenhaal in 'Source Code'
From She Knows.com Entertainment: JAKE GYLLENHAAL: SOURCE CODE CHAT
Q&A with the Daily Record UK: Movie Q&A with Jake Gyllenhaal
Here is a link to a great review, (I don't normally link to reviews, as I usually despise critics, but this is so great, I thought I would share):
From the Guardian in UK: Source Code – review
& finally Rotten Tomatoes (who I check out, but hate the critics there) is showing 87% fresh today. It has gone from the low 80's this past week up to 90 last night & so it may change again after this weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this staying high there because I've seen evidence that RT can make or break a movie regardless of how good or not it really is. Rotten Tomatoes - Source Code (2011)

JUST WATCHED SOURCE CODE IN THEATERS. I TOTALLY LOVED IT!!
Certain critical elements of the original script that I thought should have been included were modified or omitted from the final produce, but overall the film was thrilling, fun, exciting, intelligent, and thought-provoking.
It was more INCEPTION than INCEPTION.
Michelle M. was much better than I expected, and Vera was flawless.
Recommend it by 100. Very much enthused after my disappointment with LaOD!!
