Why do i seem to agree with everything you say PG??!! BECAUSE I AM BRILLIANT. And the sentiment is returned because I agree with you on it being one of the best movies of all time. Seriously, it's incredible on so many levels PLUS LEO AND JGL (!!!). I just keep thinking about how I want to be Christopher Nolan when I grow up because it would be a monumental thing to have come up with a storyline as fantastic as that one... NSA/Kokomo, okay, for real, I saw Hairspray and my whole world changed. I even did a whole JW post comparing Zac and Jake (which I loved so much I actually put it in the book!) and God am I with you on him not being with Hudgens anymore. I think he could actually notch up the awesomeness quite a bit if he surgically removed himself from Disney's grip, and I see that breakup as a step in the right direction. (Did I stay home on a Friday night SPECIFICALLY to watch HSM2 in my jammies when it premiered? It might have happened, and let's just leave it at that.)

Wow, am I late for this party! I won't waste a lot of posts replying to each one I want to, so here it is, all in one:
@kd, SEE BLACK SWAN IF YOU CAN, you totally won't regret it. & regarding Tron, I agree with most of what you said, will comment on that later.
@katie, (Kokomo aka NSA), love the new screenname BTW. TOTALLY LOVED SCOTT PILGRIM! That was an unbelievably brilliant film, (although not at all in the same way as Inception, but still). That's one I will buy eventually. You must see Inception asap, seriously. Still want to see GtD myself, as I am a JL fan & like Drew & Christina Applegate too. 17 Again, LOVED IT & own it. I am a huge Efron fan too. Damn, is there no guy with gorgeous eyes out there that I DON'T love??? The eyes have it always for me. Plus he was really good in that. Never saw any of the HSM movies though. May have to check those out someday. Charlie St. Cloud, I loved it, but it definitely is not a movie for most people, I think. Very different & I thought he was really good in it & I totally agree about the staring at him for 2 hours is never a bad thing!
@sam & PG, INCEPTION RULES! Leo & JGL had incredible performances in that, as well as the movie was the most unique story I believe I have ever seen. Bought that on blu ray on a great sale at Best Buy last week, couldn't resist. However, I can't say the same about it being my fave for all of 2010, but it is definitely ONE of the best movies of all time. & you guys will laugh at me for this one, but PoP wins my favorite movie for 2010, but that's mostly because I can watch it OVER & OVER AGAIN. I can't say the same about Inception, that one is a real brain challenge, it almost gave me an aneurysm the 1st time I watched it. My fave could change still, but not likely. ;D
@pg let's get a DVD rental thread started asap, great idea!

FYI, I started a new thread for news & stories on other actors due to the recent interview with Michelle Williams on Blue Valentine & she talks about Heath for the first time.
Blue Valentine is another one I am really looking forward to seeing after all the buzz about it recently, not to mention I love both Ryan & Michelle. & it finally got an R rating after originally being rated NC-17 which would have killed it at the box office. Here's the trailer:
& of course the other Ryan film I really want to see when it gets released wide someday, All Good Things:
I am also looking forward to The King's Speech bigtime, I have always loved Colin & it has gotten huge Oscar buzz besides getting noms already for GG's & the SAG's & winning several BAFTA's.

VANESSA. Black Swan comes out wide release on Christmas day, so hopefully I'll get to see it in theaters soon.
I want to see Blue Valentine and The Kings Speech too, but I think I'll netflix those instead. Colin Firth is such a generous actor.

I just saw Life As We Know It and I quite enjoyed it. I've always liked Katherine Heigl in romantic comedies.
The plot was predictable and pretty straightforward, although there were some very interesting twists. Heigl and Duhmael had terrific chemistry, although the romance was understated, which I actually found refreshing. The story focused more on Holly and Eric/Messer as characters and dealing with suddenly raising a baby.
I definitely recommend this as a romantic drama with a touch of comedy.
(Plus, I always enjoy seeing Heigl as an unassuming vixen)
Anybody got any more romantic drama/comedies for me?
My netflix queue is awfully short!

Hey KD, I just watched Killers last night with Heigl & Kutcher & actually thought it was fun & different. It was not what I thought it would be exactly. I have always liked Ashton & he really looked good in this. Plus Heigl's character was cute, & funny, not hilarious humor, but a lot of action which I do enjoy. So, it was a rom com action thriller, if you will. More of what I like put together, & it worked for the most part. Predictable, sure, but so what? Most movies are these days & that doesn't bother me as long as the story is fun. I highly suggest The Ugly Truth from last year if you haven't seen that yet. It has Heigl & Gerry Butler who is one of my favorite actors & was quite funny. Not any action, but definitely a rom com.

OMG VANESSA.
The Ugly Truth is one of my FAVORITE rom coms. I know it sounds cheesy, but I think Heigl and Butler had terrific chemistry and the whole movie was so sexy and fun. LOVE that movie. I was going to recommend it to YOU. LOL.
I want to watch Killers too, although I heard it got really poor reviews. I can't find a place to watch it though. You got a link? Netflix doesn't have it yet...

Recently I saw Animal Kingdom, The Kids Are All Right and Winter's Bone. All great films.
And I'm very anxious to see Black Swan, Blue Valentine, True Grit, The King's Speech, 127 Hours...

I was bored on Christmas Day (not in a bad way) and rented Toy Story 3, Ramona & Beezus, and Easy A. I'd seen Toy Story 3 and Easy A in theaters but I almost never see a movie just once.
I may have had alterior motives in renting Easy A as my deliciously hot Cam G. is in it, but I like Emma Stone in the movie and find the whole thing very entertaining. Course I think that girl would be entertaining in just about anything.
Toy Story 3 was funny and a decent kid's movie. I got kind of bored with the whole Lotso thing about halfway through. But otherwise I enjoyed it.
I pretty much only rented Ramona & Beezus cause my mom was with me and we couldn't find Toy Story 3 at the first Redbox we went to. I have a thing for John Corbett and he was adorable in this movie. I was shocked at how many fairly well-known (at least to me) actors were in this movie. It had Josh Duhamel (who's a sleaze but still hot), Ginn Goodwin and Sandra Oh. And Selena Gomez, if you count her. I don't even know where she came from or why she's famous or what the big deal is, but I digress. The movie felt long and I got annoyed with Ramona. I also got confused as to why the movie is called Ramona & Beezus because it didn't seem that those two did much together. But it wasn't an entire waste of time to watch it either.
Thanks to PG, I have an urgent need to watch Hairspray (again-haven't seen it in a while) so I will be doing that in the next 24-48 hours even though Zac isn't in that much of it. Some Zac is better than no Zac at all, I say! That's all for now. I'm actually stalling to keep from being around annoying and judgemental family ATM. Oh joy...

^^^^ I totally forgot that Zac was in Hairspray, I loved that movie & he was precious in it.
I've had a thing myself for John Corbett since Northern Exposure years ago, & he was soooo hot in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. He is also good in the United States of Tara on Showtime. If you get a chance, you should check that out, it's pretty bizarre & all the actors in it are good.
I've been wanting to see Easy A, but didn't get the chance at the theater, so I will definitely rent that. I heard nothing but good things about it. I think Emma Stone is a pretty good actress from everything else I've seen her in too.

I had intended to come back here & tell my opinion of some of the movies I saw over the past couple of weeks & time got away from me as usual. I saw True Grit, Tron Legacy, & The King's Speech recently.
Loved True Grit, Jeff Bridges is so good in this, he really is way better in my opinion than John Wayne in the original & the newcomer, Hailee Steinfeld that plays Mattie is 100 times better actress than Kim Darby could ever be. Matt Damon & Josh Brolin were good too. I may have to see that one again.
The King's Speech was phenomenal. Colin Firth & Geoffrey Rush both deserve awards for their performances. Helena Bonham Carter was pretty damn good too. If you like biopics at all, this is a definite must see.
I totally loved Tron Legacy, but then I am a fan of the original from a very long time ago & it was superb for me. I thought Jeff Bridges did well, but the main guy that got me is Garrett Hedlund who I am now going to be watching much closer.
& because of Garrett, I will be seeing Country Strong with Gwyeth Paltrow. He is in that & sings & looks amazing. I am not a fan of country music at all, but the trailers make me want to see this. I felt the same way about Crazy Heart last year & it was excellent.
Here's the trailer for Country Strong:

And yeah, Zac is in Hairspray. I'm like completely obsessed with that movie right now...and Zac, as you probably predicted. Pathetic, I know. But the BOY IS SINGLE!! Woot! Oh AND I'm now addicted to Glee. Just started watching it, lurve it too.

I am totally rooting for Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund to get together. They are diving together. Listen to their duet, "Give into Me." Makes my heart melt.
Easy A. is one of the funniest comedies of the year and really well done, very original as well. Plus it introduced me to Jessie J. who is such a phenomenal performer/songwriter.
Tron Legacy was just so damn cool. The weak storyline and character development was totally fine since all I went to see was the updated Grid and the visuals. (I loved the first one though, as well. Jeff Bridges was hella awesome back then.)
Black Swan was uncomfortable, disturbing, twisted, and very tense. I think it accomplished all it wanted to be - a frightening psychological thriller. They definitely modified the screen play though. A lot of the parallels between the White/Black Swan, Beth, Nina, and Lily were cut out.
I saw Wanted recently. It's the most melodramatic, over-the-top, dumb, explosive comic book action flick. It's so much fun. I recommend it if you want something simple, easy, and fun to follow and watch.

Kokomo (formerly NSA) - GLEE is so much guilty fun! I love Naya Rivera's version of Valerie and Sam and Quinn are my OTP. Kurt/Blaine is SO boring though. You think with such a fabulous character, the producers/directors/screenwriters would be able to give Kurt an equally fabulous romantic partner and romance. Blaine is a snoozefest.
