OK, so that picture wasn't showing up last night when I commented on this thread (stupid wireless). DEAR GOD, KD. Check out you and your badass fearless self! Er, I don't foresee a similar picture even being taken of me... So...we'll have to start a Stieg Larsson thread if we all start reading them (although coffeecat is clearly ahead of the game)! I'm pretty sure Sam's read them, too (back before I knew what she was talking about when she mentioned them). And I still don't have the trailers and all I have done is talk about off-topic stuff. Moderator fail.

I finally saw 127 Hours yesterday & it was excellent. JF was so damn good in it, he should be nominated for best actor, no lie. But I have to say I went in expecting the scene where he saws his arm off to be so graphic that I might even feel sick, & it wasn't that bad at all to me. I mean, sure it was a horrible thing he went through, & they made it look pretty damn real, but it didn't bother me like I have heard so many people say. The worst part to me was hearing him break his bones so he could cut it off. Sorry for that spoiler, but it is a true story & now I am wanting to read his book: "Between a Rock & a Hard Place", what an appropriate name for it! I am in total awe of that guy, Aron, he has cajones the size of watermelons, not to mention a boatload of common sense, perseverance, & determination. Jesus, if that happened to me, I would have died, no doubt. I believe most people would have actually. What a phenomenal story, I highly recommend it to everyone to see.

The worst sound effect for me was the twanging of the nerves. Yikes!

I'm so glad you finally got to see it, Vanessa!! James did do an absolutely amazing job!!! Kudos for being able to stomach the amputation scene. I have the book and am very anxious to read it...which I plan to do over winter break. I got the issue of Outside magazine -- Aron wrote an article about his experiences with the movie and there is also an interview with James. Both were very good. I can scan them if anyone's interested, though I probably won't be able to do it until the end of the week or so. I really wanna see it again, but I'm going to wait until its on video just to be safe. I didn't get to see the last 5 minutes or so cause I was in the bathroom cleaning puke off of myself LOL!! KD-I agree on the sound effect of the nerve...VERY well done, but it totally got to my upchuck reflex ;D

OK, new one that is on my must see list, & it has a great cast in it too, Helen Mirren, Russell Brand, Alfred Molina, Chris Cooper, Djimon Hounsou, & Alan Cumming. "The Tempest":
& I can't wait to see "The Fighter" with Marky Mark, Christian Bale, & Amy Adams:
& last but certainly NOT least is "TRON: LEGACY" OMG, I have been waiting to see this sequel for over 25 years!

Just got back from seeing Burlesque. Wasn't high on my list to see, except for Cam Gigandet and let me tell you it was so fucking worth it. It wasn't a great movie, but that boy oh my fucking shit I almost wet my pants in the theater. And no one on earth will ever look that fucking good in ridiculous red pajama pants. /rant......thank you for humoring me

HOMG, KATIE REFER TO MY OTHER POST ABOUT CAM PLEASE.
Then we can SQUEAL together. Cream panties anyone?!
OH, and I'm such a sad chipmunk lately I've taken to netflixing all adaptations of Jake Austen's novels. So far down, Pride and Prejudice (2005...HOMG, MATTHEW MACFAYDEN/MR. DARCY. TAKE ME NOW!) and Sense and Sensibility (ALAN F*CKING RICHMAN. GOOD LORD WHY AM I IN LOVE WITH FUTURE MR. SNAPE?!)
In the future: Emma, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion.

Wow, I am so in agreement with you guys about Cam. I first saw him in Twilight & thought he had potential as an actor, but the bad wig was just that, SO BAD, that I couldn't see the forest for the trees, so to speak. ;D But he really did me in in Burlesque. LOVED HIM. & am really wanting to see how his career goes from here.
I got to see The Tourist yesterday for all you Angie & JD lovers out there. It was good, but it definitely was not the type of movie they have been marketing it as. It is not an action suspense thriller at all & when I realized it soon into the movie, I was OK with it as what it really was. A romantic drama & potential love story. I thought they both did well, I liked the movie, don't need to see it again, but that's OK. There are a ton more I want to see anyway. I am going to see Narnia today & will report back what I thought of it. I am a total Ben Barnes fan, but I also really liked the first movie he was not in. Plus I love Liam Neeson & can listen to his voice all day long. Be back later tonight or some time tomorrow, I will be gone most of the day today.

I heard The Tourist was a flop. As much as I love Angelina and Depp, I'm not willing to spent $7.50 on a sub par film. I can netflix that for later.
I saw Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader on Friday. It was a lot better than I was expecting it to be. Given that I'm a HUGE fan of the book series (I have the complete 7 set compilation with art volume), I'm usually a stickler for details. The movie omitted a lot of details and adventures that would have potentially been tons of fun (should have split the movie into 2, VotDT is one of the best books in the series) and if you haven't read the series ardently, a lot of things may be sort of vague or unanswered, but overall it was paced very well the the special effects were very neat.
I was pleased.

Is this thread also for movies we've recently seen and totally wanna pimp? Good because I finally saw Tangled last weekend and it is VERY cute. It has a very classic Disney feel to it. If you are a sucker for Disney movies, then go see this one. It made me tear up.

Gah, KD, I just now saw what you wrote here about Macfadyen & Rickman. LOVE BOTH OF THEM!!! I went apeshit when I first saw MacFadyen in P&P with Keira. From then on, I had to see him in everything. Loved him in Death at a Funeral. Still need to watch the Starz mini series with him of Pillars of the Earth. & he made a fair Sheriff of Nottingham in Russell Crowe's Robin Hood this year. I actually went gaga over Alan Rickman when I saw him as Sheriff of Nottingham in Kevin Costner's Robin Hood. I was a big fan from then on. & have loved him in everything since, even Snape.
That's so funny what you said about the movies made from Jane Austen's books. I started doing that myself earlier this year. I have Northanger Abbey & Persuasion to watch, & had already seen Emma a few years ago. I wasn't as impressed with that one as I was with S&S. I totally LOVE that one with Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, & AR.
